P.P. Sadguru Shree Vasudevanand Saraswati Tembye Swami Maharaj Tapovan and Shreekrishna Mandir, Shree Kshetra Mangaon
A Short Introduction
During the last century a great saintly personality - Most Revered Sadguru Shree Shreepad Dattatraya alias Mamasaheb Deshpande - had been amongst us. He carried forward the noble traditions of the Shri Datta Sampradaya with great ability. As a result of his determination and inspiration 'Shreepad Seva Mandal', a charitable Trust was founded in 1991 for propagation of spiritual and social works along the guide lines, provided by him. The spiritual and social activities of the ' Shreepad Seva Mandal ' are being carried out, for the last fifteen years, not only in India but also in all the five continents of the world, in a very dignified and successful manner.
Several projects of the Shreepad Seva Mandal have been implemented in India. The most ambitious and the largest amongst all these projects is the 'Paramhansa Parivrajakacharya Shree Vasudevand Saraswati Swami Maharaj Tapovan Project' which a being built at Amberi in the Kudal Taluka of the Sindhudurg District.
This grand project is taking shape on an eighteen acre area in the environs of Mangaon-Amberi, a place which has been sanctified by the stay of Paramhansa Parivrajakacharaya Shree Vasudevanand Saraswati alias Tembye Swami Maharaj earlier during his life before he became a Sanyasi.
Incorporated in the project are ten smaller projects. A grand temple of Lord Shree Krishna is also nearing completion here.
1. Govansh Palan Samvardhan & Gavayurveda Research Centre
The ancient civilization of India considers the service to cow as a prime duty. Even Lord Shreekrishna is also very well-known of as 'Gopal', because of his love for the cows. As a result of this sentiment, a research centre has been started through this project for the nurturing & breeding of the cow family and to conduct research in Ayurveda based on the derivatives of the cow. Presently we have two cows, two young female calves and two bulls of the Geer species here. Milk, curds, ghee, cow dung and the cow urine – colletively known as Panchagavya, obtained from the cows, are used in many medicines in a very effective manner. This science is known as Gavayurved. Research in Gavagurveda using modern scientific techniques, is being carried out through this project.
2. Vaidic Krushi Vidya Research Project
As a subdivision of the Gavayurved, agricultural processes based on the Vedas were being used in the ancient times. In this system the Panchagavya is used for cultivation, crops are raised by using the medicines and the manures obtained from the cow dung and the cow urine. All the cultivation in this Tapovan uses organic manures to the full extent for the agriculture here and research on this system is also conducted here by using modern and scientific means. In the Tapovan, we have fruit gardens to grow Mango, Coconut, Cashew, Jack Fruit, Amla, Chikkoo, Gwava, Lemon, Orange, Papaya, Kokam, Bananas, Drumsticks etc using the Panchagavya. Due to the proper use of the agricultural techniques based in the Vedic knowledge we find considerably enhanced and improved quality in the fruits produced here. These fruits stay fresh much longer. They are juicier, tastier, sweeter. The productively is also more. In future, we are going to arrange camps, for the agriculturists and citizens of the Konkan Region, for enlightening them in the fields of Vedic Agriculture, Gavayurved, wild medicinal plants. Advanced training and guidance will be given here.
3. Cultivation and Research Project for wild Medicinal Plants.
